- Connect with third party services including social media companies.
- Contact you, but only where you have consented or requested that we do so, or to send you transactional emails, or are otherwise required to do so by law

USING YOUR INFORMATION
Snip primarily uses the information you provide to manage your subscription and your access to its service and to comply with any legal obligations that may be imposed upon us from time to time, such as recording your consents to Notifications or sending you transactional emails when you make a payment.
Snip uses the information we collect to ensure our Website and other communications with you are presented in the most effective way, to administer the Websites (including troubleshooting it and carrying out testing and analysis), to ensure that our Websites and other arrangements for collecting your data and communicating with you are as secure as possible and where consent has been given, for marketing purposes.
SHARING YOUR INFORMATION
In order to provide you with a service Snip will share your information with others as outlined in this Policy, including as follows:
- We work closely with trusted partners who help us provide our service to you as well as administrative or technical support. The partners may assist in processing, collecting and storing your personal data and may assist Snip in contacting you.
- We may share information with analytics and search engine providers that assist us in the improvement and optimisation of our site.

Your information may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside the European Economic Area ("EEA"). Snip will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Policy.
All information you provide to us is stored on secure server space. Unfortunately, the transmission of information (in particular, via the internet) is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your information, we cannot guarantee the security of data transmitted either through the Websites or by post, email or phone. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.
If we become aware of any unauthorised access to data submitted to us, we will contact the Information Commissioner's Office and the individuals affected in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018.
Managing your subscription
To help manage your subscription, pay your subscription fee, and keep you updated, we share your name, surname and email address with our secure payment provider, GoCardless Ltd ("GoCardless"). GoCardless is Bacs approved, ISO27001 certified and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.
The data we share with GoCardless will also be used to send you transactional notifications that are required as part of the Direct Debit Scheme or when making a payment.
To set up the Direct Debit Mandate for your subscription payments you will need to share your bank account number and sort code directly with GoCardless. GoCardless will store these details securely and will handle all the communication with your bank. This means that we will never need to store or process your bank account number or sort code.
GoCardless will share details about your Direct Debit Mandate with us, which include your address and the name of the bank you are establishing the Direct Debit Mandate with. They will also share details of the payments being made in relation to your subscription, so that we can manage your access to our service accordingly.
There are two types of payment that GoCardless process on our behalf:
- Direct Debit Payments
-
These are the default subscription payments. They will be set up in advance according to your subscription plan and will be paid at a fixed interval (such as monthly or yearly).
Direct Debit Payments are protected under the Direct Debit Guarantee: https://www.directdebit.co.uk/direct-debit-guarantee/
- Instant Bank Payments
-
Instant Bank Payments will be necessary when there is not enough advance notice to take a payment through Direct Debit. This is likely to happen if you are changing your subscription plan close to the renewal date or are renewing a lapsed subscription.
Both types of payments through GoCardless are subject to the GoCardless:
- Website Terms of Use: https://gocardless.com/legal/customers/
- Privacy Notice: https://gocardless.com/legal/privacy/
- Use of cookies: https://gocardless.com/legal/cookies/
If you do not agree to the GoCardless policies, please do not register with the Websites.
To help administrate your subscription payments it may be necessary for us to share details of enquiries you make to us with GoCardless or for GoCardless to share enquiries made to them with us.
Accessing the Snip Benefits Platform
The vouchers, discounts and other benefits of your subscription to Snip can be accessed through the Snip Benefits Platform.
The Snip Benefits Platform is licensed by Snip but otherwise managed and run by Propello Cloud Ltd ("Propello Cloud").
To provide you access to the Snip Benefits Platform and to enable transactional notifications, we will need to share your name, surname and email address with Propello Cloud, as well as your Snip account number and your subscription renewal period (which is either monthly or yearly).
Propello Cloud will share details of your use of the Snip Benefits Platform including the redemption of any vouchers, discounts or other benefits, but we will not share this data with third parties.
Purchases made through the Snip Benefits Platform will only be available through the platform and by email when the purchase is made. Please keep copies of these emails as you will not be able to access the Snip Benefits Platform should your subscription expire or you otherwise leave the Websites.
To help administrate your subscription to our service and/or your access to the Snip Benefits Platform it may be necessary for us to share details of enquiries you make to us with Propello Cloud or for Propello Cloud to share enquiries made to them with us.
The help and support page dedicated to the Snip Benefits Platform and operated by Propello Cloud is available at: https://home.getsnip.co.uk/help
Payments made through the Snip Benefits Platform to purchase or redeem any vouchers, discount or other benefits ("Platform Payments") are managed through Propello Cloud and require a supported bank card to make purchases. Propello Cloud does not share the details of your bank card with us.
Please note that Platform Payments cannot be made through GoCardless or taken through the Direct Debit Scheme.
Use of the Snip Benefits Platform (including Platform Payments), is subject to the Propello Cloud:
- End User Terms & Conditions: https://home.getsnip.co.uk/terms-and-conditions
- Privacy Policy (including cookies): https://home.getsnip.co.uk/privacy-policy
If you do not agree to the Propello Cloud policies, please do not register with the Websites.
External client relationship managers
In order to appropriately manage communication with our members, Snip utilises various third party tools that help better maintain our relationship with our members ("CRMs").
The CRMs record all information made available through emails to and from our support team and employees. This includes responses to and from any such communication.
By contacting us or responding to our emails you are consenting for these details to be stored within the CRMs indefinitely, for the purposes of record keeping, and processed in order to assist with your enquiries or improve how we manage relationships with our members.
The CRMs may contact you, but only on our behalf, examples of which are when we reply to your enquiries, set up an automated response, or request feedback on how helpful our responses have been.
Email verification
When joining Snip or updating your contact details, we send an email to your email address to verify that the address is correct and active.
We also receive information from a third party that provides automated verification of your email address and determines whether the email address is active, disposable or if it is a role address (a generic address such as sales@ or admin@).
The third party does not contact you or store any of your personal data in this process. The verification process is conducted through your email service provider.

Retaining your data
We will retain your personal data for as long as it is necessary to provide our subscription service and access to the Snip Benefits Platform to you. We also keep personal data for other purposes under our legitimate interests, such as complying with our legal obligations, dispute resolution and the prevention of fraud.
This may mean there are restrictions to the personal data that we are able to remove when your subscription with us ends; when you delete your account through the Website; or when you make a subject access request to us to delete your data (collectively referred to as "Leaving Snip").
The restrictions when Leaving Snip are as follows:
- The records of your payments made through GoCardless and/or through Propello Cloud will be retained in accordance with their respective privacy policies.
- Your account on the Website and for the Snip Benefits Platform will be marked for deletion, but may remain in a recoverable state for up to thirteen months after Leaving Snip.
- An irreversible hash of each email used whilst you were registered on the Website will be retained indefinitely. This will not be used to contact you, but will be retained to determine whether or not a member has registered previously for fraud prevention and compliance with our legal obligations.
